Solvy was launched in 2024 to help high school and college students use AI as a real study partner — so tutoring-style support can reach more learners, not only those who can afford a private tutor.
Homework and exams are not about memorizing a single correct line. They are about understanding how to think through a problem. That is why Solvy includes a free tier that helps you work through hard questions in a personalized way: you get reasoning and guidance on how to approach the task, not only a finished answer. The goal is to build lasting skills — so when similar problems show up later, you know how to tackle them yourself.
Accessible tutoring. AI lets us scale patient, step-by-step explanations without replacing the work of thinking. Solvy is built around that balance: support when you are stuck, structure when you need to learn the method, and respect for the fact that real learning takes practice.
Eli Chaus
Before starting Solvy, Eli worked in edtech building an online English school for people who do not speak English as a first language — focused on access, clear teaching, and meeting learners where they are.
When the wave of modern AI reshaped how software could help people learn and work, Eli chose to go deep in that field and focus on applying AI in consumer and business products. Edtech was a natural place to start: it is a space he already knew and cared about, where responsible use of AI can change outcomes for students. That path led to Solvy.
